When a pupil has achieved the vast majority of the objectives for their year group, they are considered to be 'working at age-related expectations'.

If a pupil is able to apply these skills, for example when solving mathematical problems or when reading and writing for different purposes across the curriculum, they are considered to have 'mastered' the curriculum for their year group.
