Online Safety

At Cherry Orchard, online safety is paramount. Our curriculum teaches children about safe and sensible internet usage, and ensures that children learn about how to keep themselves safe, and what to do if they have any worries or concerns. As well as our curriculum, we have presented assemblies about cyber bullying and taken part in safer internet day. A new feature in our monthly newsletter will cover aspects of online safety for parents.

If you wish to find out more about online safety, you can use the following websites to find out about how to teach your child to be safe on the Internet and ways of reporting any issues.

If you wish to find out more about social media, useful resources are the guides from 'Skips Safety Net': Skips Safety Net online guides for parents

To learn more about setting parental controls for safe internet usage, please also see the 'Parent Guidance for Online Safety' attachment below.

Educate Against Hate

This government website gives parents information on how to help protect children against radicalisation and extremism. If any questions arise from its use, please come into school to talk to a member of staff about them.

If you have any concerns about extremism or radicalisation, they should be referred to Ms A Jaswal, our single point of contact and one of our Designated Safeguarding Leads.

If your child is worried about recent events in the news, you may wish to go to www.nspcc.org.uk and search for 'supporting children worried about terrorism'.

In the Children's area of the website are links to other websites that educate and inform about online safety through reading and games.

At Cherry Orchard, we are committed to reviewing our Online Safety and use the 360safe review tool to support us.
